We’ve all been there… Whether it’s at a busy mall, or a sold out concert. You park your car and are in such a hurry to get to where you’re going, that by the time you get there, you have no clue how to get back! Maybe you remembered to look for the random letter on some pillar in the ramp, but what started out as “C” now could possibly by “E” or what it “B”…? Uh oh.
Have no fear though friends. Thanks to a new Google Maps feature, that issue is going to become much less common.
The latest version of the Android Google Maps app, allows you to easily mark your own parking spot.
All you have to do is open the app after you park, tap the blue location dot & presto, you’re done!
You can even add some helpful notes (now you’ll never forget what letter was on that pillar again.) If you want to be extra cautious, you can even take a photo of the location… better safe than sorry!
Parking at a meter? There’s a timer you can set to give you a heads up when you’re about to get dinged. You can even set it to give you a push notification/alert. How handy.
The only limitation (which is fairly minor) is that the app only works for one car at a time.
If the app does happen to screw up (wait what, you mean technology doesn’t always work?!) the app can also offer alternative places for you to check. Better than trying to start your car alarm in hopes of hearing the horn, or seeing the flashing lights.
All in all this new Google Maps feature sounds pretty helpful. No word yet on when it’ll roll out to Apple, but it should only be a matter of time.
