Melinda started her West Herr career at the original Ford Hamburg store, before we had branched out to other locations. She worked at our rental/loaner office, then worked as an assistant to our current Vice President, John Wabick. She then stepped into the role of office manager for Kia/Mitsubishi, moving with the store as it relocated to its previous Camp road location. She then became an essential part of the creation and development of our IPAC system back in 2005 and has been the IPAC administrator ever since.
What Melinda enjoys most about her career at West Herr: Having the opportunity to work with so many great people. Everyone is like a family and wants to help each other out. The management really looks out for employees, you couldn't ask for better owners. Some of the best friends I've made I have met from working here. This career at West Herr has allowed me to not only grow personally, but professionally as well. It just makes getting out of bed every morning so much better when you are doing something you truly love and enjoy.
Melinda considers the greatest gift her husband, George, who is also a member of the West Herr family. Her and George met while preparing for our company's summer picnic. After helping out at our Christmas party together, he helped to plow her driveway during a snowstorm in January 1999, asked her out on a date, and the rest is history!
Melinda's true passion is singing. Her first gig was singing at a friend's wedding when she was fifteen, and has been performing ever since. She was a part of the Buffalo Opera Company for over twenty years, which performed a variety of shows at Shea's Theater. She currently sings for the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamburg. She also enjoys gardening, sipping red wine with friends, and spending time with her four grandchildren.
