Meet this week's West Herr Wednesday, Mike Campbell! He is one of our sales & leasing professionals over at our Toyota Orchard Park store. Mike originally worked in the printing industry, working on a variety of children's books during his fifteen years including projects with Scholastic and even a few of the Harry Potter books. After making the switch to the automotive industry, Mike worked as a finance manager at a couple local stores, and then started his West Herr career back in February 2015. He has been at our Toyota Orchard Park store in sales since June 2016 and has been a great addition to the team!
Mike has always had a knack for music and decided to pick up drumming on his own. Back in 2002, Mike formed his first band, Sucker Punch, which was voted Best Alternative Rock band in Buffalo for an impressive nine years in a row! Mike was also voted Best Drummer by the Buffalo Music Awards in 2012, which is quite the achievement. After a thirteen year run, they decided to go their separate ways in December of 2015. Mike formed his new band, The Primary Alternative, this past August, and unfortunately as the band got up and running, he ran into an unexpected roadblock when he shattered his collarbone while four-wheeling. He luckily opted for the surgery, which has allowed him to battle back and return to drumming. The Primary Alternative has been nominated for Best New Band at the Nightlife Music Awards, and will be back in action on April 1st at Rockstarz!
Mike was born & raised in the West Seneca area and enjoys spending time with his family. Mike and his wife, Sarah, have two children. Both have both picked up the musical gene; his son, Jaryd, plays sax, drums and guitar, and his daughter, Jayden, plays the flute, ukulele, drums, and piano.
Mike has been a great addition to West Herr, and we are glad to have him on the team!
