Buick's Brilliant New Cascada Sets the Stage for the Modern Convertible

Buick is taking the next step in their brand revolution, with the all-new 4-seater 2016 Buick Cascada soft-top convertible; their first of its kind since  Boasting a sport-lowered chassis and Buick's HiPer Strut suspension, the new Cascada achieves a speedy 200 horsepower from its 1.6L turbocharged engine, for a truly athletic and smooth drive.

Since this model was only recently unveiled, we still don't have a lot of information about it. But let's see if we can learn something from The Fast Lane Car in "Almost Everything You Ever Wanted to Know".

Now, the 2016 Buick Cascada won't be available until--you guessed it--2016, but we're excited that there's a new, beautiful, and affordable convertible that will be hitting the market and joining the new Buick lineup.

New Store Announcement: West Herr Nissan of Lockport, formerly Cappellino Nissan

The West Herr Automotive Group is pleased to announce that it has acquired the assets of Cappellino Nissan in Lockport at 6069 South Transit Rd, Lockport, NY 14094.  With this acquisition, West Herr will now have two Nissan dealerships that are located in Orchard Park and Lockport.  Additionally, this will be the fourth brand they represent in both the North and South of Western New York:  Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota and now Nissan.  Aaron Hill has been appointed as General Manager of the dealership.

 

Scott Bieler, President of the West Herr Automotive Group expressed that “Our team is excited about the potential that this store has based on the popularity of the Nissan brand, and the added convenience that this location will offer to our customers in WNY."  With the addition of this dealership, West Herr now has 21 dealerships throughout WNY representing 20 brands:  BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Jaguar, Jeep, KIA, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Ram, Scion, Sprinter, Subaru and Toyota.  Over 1700 employees strong, selling 39,466 new and used vehicles combined in 2014, West Herr is the largest automotive group in New York State and one of the largest in the nation.

Autoplace is now West Herr Nissan and Infiniti of Williamsville!

The West Herr Automotive Group is pleased to announce that it has acquired the assets of Autoplace Nissan and Autoplace Infiniti of Williamsville at 8137 Main Street in Williamsville, NY.  The locations will be renamed, West Herr Nissan of Williamsville, and Infiniti of Williamsville.  With these acquisitions, West Herr now hasthree Nissan dealerships in Western New York, located in Orchard Park, Lockport and now Williamsville.  West Herr has four brands they now represent in both the North and South of the City: Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota and Nissan.  West Herr is the largest retailer in New York State representing 21 brands in 23 locations.

Sam LaNasa has been appointed General Manager, Justin Rojek has been appointed the General Sales Manager, and Dan Fabrizio, Jr. will be the Infiniti Sales Manager of the dealerships that employ approximately 70 people.  Both dealerships will be renovated to a state-of-the-art Nissan and Infiniti Facility Image Design in 2016.

West Herr Subaru donates over $49,000 to Meals on Wheels of WNY

West Herr Subaru "Shares the Love" With Meals on Wheels of Western New York

This year's Subaru "Share the Love" campaign kicked off in November 2014 and for the second consecutive year, West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park chose Meals on Wheels for WNY to be the local fundraising beneficiary. Nationally, the campaign is in its seventh successful year supporting 608 local charities across the country.

For every new Subaru sold through January 2nd, 2015, Subaru of America on behalf of West Herr Subaru donated $250 to Meals on Wheels for WNY, resulting in a combined $49,702. Recently, West Herr presented a check for the donated amount to commemorate the end of this year's campaign.

West Herr Subaru is a proud supporter of Meals on Wheels for WNY, with General Manager Chuck Hardy serving on its foundation board for the past three years. The West Herr executive and dealership staff would like to thank all participating customers for their support of such an excellent western New York organization.

West Herr donates a Van to the Ruffino Family

We had the privilege of meeting the Ruffino Family at their home in Western New York. They have recently doubled the size of their family to eight, after fulfilling a promise made between two friends.  

Laura Ruffino made a promise to her best friend friend Elizabeth Diamond, that if anything were to happen to Elizabeth, Laura would take care of her four daughters. In April 2015, Elizabeth lost her battle with brain cancer. The Ruffino family stepped in to provide for the kids. 

West Herr is proud to be donating a van to help them get around WNY. They really are an incredible family who represent true friendship, strength, and commitment to family values. Their story is another example of the terrific people that live in Western New York!

West Herr donates $20,000 to help Teen paralyzed in boating accident

Ashley Wiegele was in a tragic boating accident that has left her paralyzed with limited mobility.  The 17 year old is now being cared for by her Mother, and they had a benefit on Saturday 10/24 in Albion, NY to help raise money for a wheel chair accessible van.

West Herr is proud to contribute $20,000 toward the purchase of a van to help Ashley.

Winterizing Tips for WNY Drivers

Winter is almost here??!!  So what should you be thinking about for your car?

 

Safety first and planning for the unexpected should be top of mind.  At a basic level you want to make sure your vehicle is performing at a reasonable standard. Some questions to ask yourself: 

Is it making any unusual noises? 

Has the oil been changed recently? 

Are all the fluids topped-off, including washer fluid (that's ready for cold weather)?

Also, planning ahead can save you some aggravation if you ever get stuck on the road for an extended period of time. Try and keep your gas tank about 1/2 full at all times in case you have extended periods of delays or getting stuck in the snow. Have the winter essentials like a snow brush and ice scrapper, and a small emergency kit, including things like a warm blanket, a bottle of water, gloves/hat, can go a long way if you are stuck on the thruway - like many of us in the November Storm of 2014 aka SNOVEMBER!

  

What about tires?

Make sure you are not slipping and sliding all over the place by making sure your tires have plenty of life (and tread) left on them. An easy way to do that is to grab a penny, and stick it in between the tread on your tires.  If you can see the top of Abe's head, then you should probably go have your tires inspected. The more tread the better, to help move snow out of the way.
